Obverse
A design around William Shakespeare, linking Ovid's Metamorphoses to A Midsummer Night's Dream: two female figures and two man-beasts. The moon at the top is rendered as a mirror-polished field.
Inscription: 2000
Reverse
Europa on the bull (Zeus) — the theme shared across the whole series, interpreted by each country's own medallist. The EMC star mintmark is engraved on this side. The sun at the top is rendered as a mirror-polished field, as the moon is on the obverse.
